Call sheet

A document sent to the cast and crew before each shoot day, detailing the schedule, locations, contact info, and what is being filmed when.

The call sheet is how everyone knows where to be and when. It is the AD’s responsibility to prepare and distribute it. A good call sheet prevents most of the chaos that can happen on a disorganised shoot.

Call sheet in the real world

On a major label shoot with a cast of 50 or more, a call sheet might run to several pages with staggered call times for background artists, transport logistics, catering arrangements, and weather contingency notes. Getting it wrong by even 30 minutes can cost thousands when crew are standing around on day rates.
