New Music: El Parisa

Over the past few days I have ha El Parisa in the studio.   The first day we did a brand new revamped version of the ever popular Sali to make it even more radio friendly and to hopefully secure even more radio play for it.

The second day we started writing and working on a new party influenced track titled “New In The City” which is 3/4 finished.  We just need to put another session into it at some point to get the choruses done as we wanted to spend a bit longer with this one as the chorus part actually opens up more and the vocal melody will be the key to that whole part so it has to be good!

On the third day we were supposed to remix “Morris Marshall” however we ended up writing and performing a brand new track “Boyfriend”.  This track came together VERY quickly  and was actually written and performed in one day.  Radio play was as quick for this song as everything else and this track was written and performed on the Wednesday an had it’s first radio play on BBC Radio Cymru on the Thursday!  Due to the pop sensibilities of this track I am pretty confident that this track will be getting quite a lot of radio play over the coming months.

And that ended my last session with El Parisa.  Iwould imagine next time we will be finishing off ‘New In The City’ and doing the remix of ‘Morris Marshall’.  Chris Maguire recorded, produced, mixed and mastered ‘Boyfriend’ and ‘New In The city’.  Chris also wrote and performed all of the music for those songs and wrote some of the lyrics.
