Chris “MUG5″ Maguire is always working on stuff of all media for clients but even Chris gets some downtime from this to work on his own art that is not created for a specific project but just for his love of art. As such we decided to showcase this work here so that bands, labels or anyone else can make us an offer for their exclusive use of the image you see. All purchasers will be provided with the full resolution version of the art which can then be used as CD artwork or printed on a canvas or anything else.

This piece showcases Venice and an option for the viewer. Which door would you choose to enter, if any? It basically represents the constant choices we are faced with in life and how choosing one door over the other can affect it forever.

Altsounds TV: New Web Design and Artwork Design

It is our pleasure to note that Altsounds TV has officially landed. At Screamadelica we were responsible for all the artwork and web design for the Altsounds TV site with Chris “MUG5″ Maguire designing a brand new island based world and associated solar system for the project. Chris also designed the theme tune that will be used for all the original Altsounds TV features and was responsible for all the artwork used in the Altsounds TV introductory sequence he is also the executive producer of all the original features that will be featuring on the site.

Altsounds TV - Introductory Image for TV (Intro sequence pans from top to bottom of this)

The artwork above is used on the Altsounds TV video introduction where it pans from top to bottom to demonstrate the Altsounds world and pans from a spaceship all the way to the ground. The artwork below is the main screen for the video introduction and each of the layers below are animated in the video intro. The white in the TV is also transparent originally allowing us to put video stuff into the TV on the beach.

Below is the imagery that was used to put the Altsounds TV website together, including multiple drafts of the main page header and a smaller, sub page header to be shown on everything but the main page.

The first draft shown above didn’t end up getting used as Altsounds wanted a bigger featured video which you can see below:

The second draft has the bigger featured video and a bigger search bar making it all feel a lot more simplistic and easy to use. The black box is where the video will go.

The image above showcases the headers on all other pages apart from the main page which gives an overall feel of Altsounds TV in a simplistic form. The Black bar is where advertising will go.

Above is the image that was used for the website’s background. This image is seamless so if the site was to increase past this size it would repeat over again.

Cockpit Design for the Altsounds TV Intro

Above you see the cockpit design for the Altsounds TV intro. All of this is separate layers so that each can be animated and the white signifies what was transparent so we could put imagery in the window and a video on the TV.

Above is a screenshot of the Altsounds TV System Error screen that was used in the premier video feature we have done for Corey Taylor which can be seen elsewhere on the site. This was used for a bit of humour!

It was with pleasure that we worked on a new track for Solace Awaits titled “Saw This Coming.” The song was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Chris “MUG5″ Maguire. New Music: Man Of The Hour

This week we have had Man Of The Hour in to record two new tracks from their upcoming debut EP. The tracks we recorded, produced, mixed and mastered was a new version of “Make Believe”and a new track “How Do You Like Them Apples?” We really enjoyed both tracks but our personal favourite is “…Apples”

These tracks show that Man Of The Hour are a Welsh Pop Punk force and people should look forward to their Ep which should be out before the end of the year. On top of the above, Chris “MUG5″ Maguire also provided some backing vocals and put together a string score for the middle section of “…Apples”

Altsounds.com are hitting this years Sonisphere hard and as such we were asked to put together some promotional posters for the event. We did both a portrait and landscape version of the poster that will be plastered all over the press area to stamp our identity on the area. These posters are amalgamations of artwork that Chris “MUG5″ Maguire has been working on and really showcase some of our edgier work. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

New Myspace Music Page Design: Bleed Electric

To coincide with the release of the sophomore EP release by Cardiff based Hip-Hop / Alternative / Electro band we designed them a brane spanking new Myspace Music page design that was oriented around their latest artwork. We really enjoyed how this Myspace Music Page Design came out and has resulted in people asking all sorts of awesome questions like “is this esoteric” etc. It is also awesome to showcase the artwork at this resolution as it really allows people to fully appreciate the level of art, weirdness and detail that has been put into it all.

New Web Design: Kings Of A&R [Version 3]

In its existence Kings Of A&R, the very popular music industry A&R website has gone through three web versions. This is the first time that we have been involved in a full re-design of the site and both us and the client themselves are very pleased with the results.

Not only focusing on the design, we also worked on SEO, social network updating amongst many other things. We took the layout of Version 2 of the Kings Of A&R site and updated it completely whilst still keeping all the greatness that already existed. We simplified the colouring, adding a featured slider, designed a brand new logo etc. We also simplified the sidebar, its content and put a little more focus on advertising and tags.

The menus were split into two, one for the informative pages on the site and the second for the blog categories. New categories were introduced based on the content that Kings Of A&R posts (Industry News, Featured). A new featured section was also added to the footer to always promote the latest stuff from each section wherever you are on Kings Of A&R. We included social networking icons to the header too to keep it nice and simple for people to stay in touch with the Kings Of A&R guys. We also made sure we included an e-mail newsletter signup in both the header and the sidebar making it easier to signup to the newsletter and get all the latest Kings Of A&R updates wherever you are on the site.
