New Album: Winch House - The High Cost of Low Living

Our biggest project to date is the Winch House debut album - The High Cost of Low Living. Let’s just call it our baby. Work actually began on this album in 2007 and the recording was finished a year later and with one member less in 2008. Chris Maguire Recorded, Produced, Mixed and Mastered all of the tracks. Chris also programmed and wrote various beats for the album, did a bunch of backing vocals and even wrote the chorus melody to one of the song. “The High Cost of Low Living” is also the first full album release on Altsounds Records the label arm of Altsounds.com so we are super excited about that. Winch House are a Pop Punk band from Pembrokeshire and have an avid following both here and in the USA and this release is highly anticipated.

Chris’ work then went further on the album when he designed, took the photography and turned that in to art photography for the whole album cover. Chris’ work is on-going with Winch House as you can see from our portfolios; doing more photos, art, flyers, posters etc. Winch House are currently touring the UK in support of this release. In the meantime, why not have a listen to some of the tracks off the album while you browse all of the artwork. All of which is attached.

The main artwork is all two colour and doesn’t represent the colours you would normally associate with Pop Punk. This is kept for the inside of the booklet where we took the background colour inspiration from a Maynards Wine Gum pack. All of the pictures you see in the backgrounds are actually the bands tattoos and we got these in digitally by scanning them in using a flatbed scanner! That was some funny stuff to do. If you look carefully on some of them you can see the boys hairs still! We have had 1000 of these printed and they look amazing in their physical form.

Hello, I got a nice tattoo last week and I wanted to share this with you. It’s a mean red dragon on my right arm.
I got the design from another site.
It is a tattoo gallery of more than 3 thousands tattoo designs.
After a couple of days looking at the tattoos I finally decided on this red dragon.
The design was really high quality and the artist tattooed me with no problems.
My friends liked it and I thrilled with the outcome. Traian
